Role of PS in viral budding
I study viral budding. Enveloped viruses typically have a matrix protein that coats the inner leaflet of the lipid membrane. Matrix proteins frequently interact with lipids for proper localization. We have found cells deficient in lipid scrambling activity produce fewer virions. I am characterizing the role lipid scrambling plays on virus budding.
